In Christ Church burial ground is a family headstone for Fields which includes:

Lieut. Edward Cotnam Fields,
27th North. Fusiliers
Died of wounds 22nd June 1916
aged 32 years

There is a prayer desk to his memory inside Christ Church, see N34.64 he is also remembered in Tynemouth on T36.14
