On the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France, is the name of 20/1128 Private John Henry Rodda, serving with the 20th (Tyneside Scottish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 01/07/1916.

He was the son of John and Phillis Rodda, of 5, Grieves Row, Dudley.

Morpeth Herald 08/09/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Mr and Mrs J. Rodda, of Garden [sic] Row, Dudley, have received an official notification that their son, Private J.H. Rodda, N.F., has been missing since July 1st.

He is remembered at Dudley on D34.01
