Nixon, W., Cpl., 1917
In Wimereux Communal Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 242331 Corporal William Nixon, serving with the 5th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 31/10/1917.

He was the son of Mary Jane and the late William Nixon, of Dudley, and husband of Charlotte Nixon, of 19 Nelson’s Buildings, Dudley.

Morpeth Herald 23/11/1917 carries a brief obituary:

Mrs Nixon, of Nixon’s [sic] Buildings, Dudley, has received news that her husband, Corporal W. Nixon, N.F., has died in France from wounds.

He is remembered at Dudley on D34.01 and D34.05
