In Contay British Cemetery, Somme, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 27/1060 Corporal James Arthur King, serving with the 27th (Tyneside Irish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 11/09/1916.

Morpeth Herald 29/09/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Mr and Mrs Thos. Maughan, of 13 Lorraine Street, Dudley Colliery, have received official news that their nephew, Corporal James Arthur King, of the Tyneside Irish, was killed in action in France on September 11th.

He is remembered at Dudley on D34.01
