In Warloy-Baillon Communal Cemetery Extension is the Commonwealth War Grave of 10166 Serjeant William Porter, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 14/07/1916.

In Seaton Delaval (Our Lady) Churchyard is a family headstone shaped like an open book which reads:

Left hand side
In memory of
My dear husband
Sergt. W.J. Porter
was killed in action
July 13th 1916
aged 30 years.

Right hand side
In memory of
Evelyn
the beloved child of
Ann Isabella
and the late
Sergt. Porter
died Jan. 17th 1918
aged 14 months.

William Porter is remembered in New Hartley on N50.02 and N50.04
