On Chatham Naval Memorial, Kent, is the name of Tyneside Z/3926 Signalman Mark Cockburn, serving with H.M.T.B. “No. 91”, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, who died 28/07/1917.

Morpeth Herald 24/08/1917 carries a brief obituary:
Mrs M. Cockburn, 69 Blyth Street, Seaton Delaval, has been notified that her son, Signaller [sic] Mark Cockburn, R.N.V.R., has been drowned at sea.

He is remembered at Seaton Delaval on S7.03, S7.04 S7.06 and S7.10 and on our List of Ships' Crews
