James Robert Arthur is my father. He served on HMS Janus from 2 August 1939 until 24 April 1942 as an AB. He left the RN as PO. in 1947.
He won his DSM at the Battle of the Tarigo Convoy (Sometimes known as the Skirmish of Sfax).
He was from Seghill, Northumberland originally but lived in Sunderland from after the War. He is still alive (in 2017) aged 97 and living in Sunderland.
