In Lijssenthoek Military Cemetery, West-Vlaanderen, Belgium, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 37938 Lance Corporal E. Bell, serving with the 24th (Tyneside Irish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 31/10/1917.

Morpeth Herald 30/11/17 carries a brief obituary:

Lance-Corporal E. Bell, N.F., New Delaval, Military Medallist, has died of wounds received from the explosion of an enemy aeroplane bomb in France. Bell was married when on leave ten weeks ago.

He was the son of Robert Bell, of New Delaval, and the husband of M.J. Bell, of 65, New Road, New Delaval.

He is remembered in New Delaval on N51.01
