In Maroeuil British Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 376205 Gunner William Lynch, serving with the Royal Garrison Artillery who died 18/03/1918.

In Delaval (Our Lady) Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:

Pray for the soul of
Alexander,
beloved son of
John & Jane Lynch,
who was killed at Seaton Delaval
Pit, Decr. 9th 1903,
aged 22 years.
Also Mary Ellen, their daughter
who died June 19th 1905
aged 16 years.
The above Jane Lynch
died 1st Sep. 1928 aged 71 years.
The above John Lynch
died 27th Dec. 1945 aged 87 years.
Francis their son
died 23rd Jan. 1922 aged 38 years
William their son
died of wounds in France
18th March 1918, aged 23 years.
Jane their daughter
died at Toulon France,
14th Feb. 1919 aged 31 years.
