Morris, A.B., Pte., 1916

Thiepval Memorial

On the Thiepval Memorial to the Missing of the Somme, France is the name of 21/991 Private Alexander Baxter Morris, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 01/07/1916.

The Blyth News 04/07/1921 carries the following "In Memoriam" notice:

"In loving memory of Private Alexander Barter (sic) Morris, killed in action July 1st, 1916, dearly beloved son of William and Marion Morris, of 56 Melton Terrace, New Hartley. Ever remembered by his loving father, mother, brothers and sister, sister-in-law and brother-in-law. Death divides but memory clings."

Alexander Baxter Morris is remembered at New Hartley on N50.02 and N50.04
