In Earsdon (St. Alban) Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 1979 Private Henry Weatherburn, serving with the Northern Cyclist Battalion who died 31/10/1915.

The family headstone reads:

loving memory of
Pte. Henry Weatherburn
3rd Cyclist Batt.
beloved son of
Henry & Isabella Weatherburn
of Shiremoor
who died 31st October 1915
aged 23 years.
Thy will be done
Also of Sallie their daughter
who died in South Africa
8th June 1926 aged 38 years
And of the above
Isabella Weatherburn
who died 6th September 1930
aged 71 years.
Also William
beloved son of the above
died March 4th 1937
aged 50 years
Also Henry
beloved husband of the above
died Dec. 26th 1937
aged 76 years.

He is remembered in Backworth on B1.03 page 2 and in Shiremoor on S21.01
