In Earsdon (St. Alban) Churchyard is a family headstone in two halves to represent an open book. Part of the inscription is on the left side. We have a photograph of only the right hand side. This reads:

Who was killed in action

Oct. 2nd 1918
After 4 years service
Aged 24 years.
