Morpeth Herald 12/01/1917 carries a brief obituary:

Private R.W. Rice, [son of Frederick Richard and Margaret Rice, of] 24 Lamb Street, East Cramlington, has been reported killed in action. He has been missing since July 1st.

He is remembered at Cramlington on C60.03
