Morpeth Herald 25/08/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Pte. Richard Pentleton, of Horton St., Blyth, [was] killed in action [on] July 27th. Deceased who was 23 years of age, had been in France twelve months, and worked at Shankhouse as a miner before the war.

He is remembered at Blyth on B42.06 and B42.24
