Foggon, J., Sgt., 1943
In Tilburg (Glizerbaan) General Cemetery, the Netherlands, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 577754 Sergeant John Foggon, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 14/07/1943.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

Sgt. Foggon was killed when Handley Page Halifax II DT679 EQ-J of 408 (R.C.A.F.) Squadron, which was lost on a mission to Aachen. The Halifax was shot down on the outbound journey by a Luftwaffe night fighter flown by Lt. Rolf Bussman, of I./NJG1, and crashed about 1 mile south of Drunen, Hollnad. Of the seven crew members, five lost their lives, and the remaining two became P.o.W.s.
