On Chatham Naval Memorial, Kent, is the name of 6102S Stoker George Hedley, serving with the Royal Naval Reserve on H.M.S. “Indefatigable”, who died 31/05/1916.

Morpeth Herald 07/07/1916 carries a brief obituary:
Stoker George Hedley, Brick Row, Bebside Furnace, H.M.S. Indefatigable. He was the third son of Pte. and Mrs Hedley to give his life in the war.

George Hedley is remembered at Bebside on B14.02 and on our List of Ships’ crews
