In X Farm Cemetery, La Chapelle-d’Armentieres, Nord, France, is the Commonwealth War grave of 20/1088 Private William Merryweather, serving with the 20th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 03/04/1916.

Morpeth Herald 21/04/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Mrs Merryweather, of Bridge Buildings, Annitsford, has been informed that her husband, Private William Merryweather, has been killed in action. Private Merryweather worked at Burradon Colliery, and was 34 years of age.

He is not remembered on any war memorial in Northumberland
