Appleby, J.F., Pte., 1916
In Heilly Station Cemetery, Mericourt-L'Abbé, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 2599 Private Joseph Appleby Foster, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 18/09/1916.

He is named on a Roll of Honour for Bellringers from the North East of England in St.Paul's Cathedral, London. He rang the bell in Ovington Tower.
