William Little is a distant relative of mine. His grandmother was a sister of my great, great Grandfather and he was born at Glindon Green which is out towards Haltwhistle in 1887. He was the eldest son of John and Annie Little of Smalesmouth.

He emigrated to Canada and lived in Toronto with his wife Bessie and daughter Mary. He enlisted into the army in August 1915 and was posted to the 15th Battalion Canadian Infantry. Reports state that William had lost a leg, but had shown signs of recovery and that his death in no 7 British General Hospital St Omer France came as a great shock. He was only 30. His grandchildren and great grandchildren live near Glasgow.

He is remembered at Greystead on G21.01 and at Falstone F6.01 and F6.03
