On the Thiepval Memorial to the missing of the Somme, France, is the name of 24271 Private Matthew Robson serving with the 24th (Tyneside Irish) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 01/07/1916.

In Falstone Cemetery is the family headstone which reads:
