In Serre Road Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 16/1719 Lance Corporal Edward Wilson, serving with the 16th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 13/02/1917.

Morpeth Herald 27/04/1917 carries a brief obituary:

Mrs Wilson, Lawson’s Buildings, Newbiggin, has been officially informed that her husband [Edward?], missing since Feb 12th [sic], is now presumed to have been killed in action

He is remembered at Newbiggin by the Sea on N10.08
