Morpeth Herald 18/01/1918 carries a brief obituary:
Much sympathy is felt at Newbiggin for the family of Private George Green, who has died at Gosforth, where he had undergone an operation after being severely wounded. He was given a military funeral at Seghill, of which place he was a native.
He is remembered at Newbiggin on N10.06
