Ernest Joseph was the husband of Mary Arthur of 5 Northumberland Avenue, Newbiggin by the Sea He enlisted in December 1914 and was aged 34 when he died serving with the 4 A Reserve Battalion, Royal Field Artillery.

Ernest Joseph Authur is remembered at Newbiggin by the Sea on N10.06
