The headstone reads:

To our dear son
Sgt. Pilot George W. Brown
killed in action
9 Oct. 1940, aged 23 years.

Sgt Brown was serving with 77 Squadron. He was a crew member of Whitley V P5091 KN-Y which took off from Topcliffe on a mission to Hanau but crashed in Yorkshire killing all 5 crew.
