Blyth News 14/04/1921
The Blyth News 14/04/1921 carries the following "In Memoriam" notice:
"Roper: In loving memory of our dear grandson, Lance-Corporal James Snowdon Roper, who was killed in action in France, April 15th, 1918.
In a far off land our dear grandson is sleeping.
The battlefields around him are quiet and still;
We must leave him in the Good Shepherd's keeping,
And murmur not, it was God's holy will.
Ever remembered by his grandfather, grandmother, James and Annie Snowdon; also Uncle Tom, Uncle Bob, Uncle Jack, Aunt Bella, Aunt Maggie, and cousins James and Nancy Noble, Eleane and Mary Snowdon; all of Cambois. Deeply mourned."
He is remembered at Cambois on C6.02 and C6.04
The CWGC entry gives his name as "Snowden" not "Snowdon."
