Heron, T.W., Sgt., 1945
On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 1591235 Sergeant Thomas William Heron, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died 21/02/1945.

Simon Glancey has submitted the following:

Sgt. Heron was killed when Avro Lancaster I PD421 IQ-F of 150 Squadron, which was lost on a mission to Dortmund. The Lancaster crashed at Hagen, Westfalen, with the loss of four of the seven crew; the three survivors became P.o.W.s.
