Potter, E.W., Pte., 1918
On the Ploegsteert Memorial is the name of 32717 Private Edward Watson Potter serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 15/04/1918.

Carole Fife has provided the following.

Edward was born in Choppington and was baptised on 4th June 1893. His father, Thomas Watson Potter, was a draper in Guide Post in 1891 and married Mary Hood in 1892. Thomas died in 1899 and Mary married George Storey in 1905. In 1911 Edward was living at 8 Rothesay Terrace with his aunt Thomasina, and was working as a grocer's apprentice. He enlisted in Bedlington and joined the 9th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers. He died during the Fourth Battle of Ypres.

He is remembered in Bedlington Station on B163.04
