In Gordon Dump Cemetery, Ovillers-La Boisselle is the Commonwealth War Grave of 19119 Private Albert Singleton, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 07/07/1916.

Carole Fife has provided the following:

Albert was born in 1890, the son of George Septimus Singleton. His mother died when he was a baby and he was brought up by his stepmother at 32 Ravensworth Terrace, Bedlington Station. In 1912 his father died and George became the main wage earner. He died in the battle for Ovillers, part of the Battle of the Somme, and is buried in Gordon Dump Cemetery at Ovillers-La Boiselle.

He is remembered in Bedlington Station on B163.04
