BEDLINGTON STATION

Kinghorn, T., Pte., 1917
In Duisans British Cemetery, Etrun, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 20/820 Private Thomas Kinghorn, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 15/04/1917.

Carole Fife has provided the following:

Thomas, brother of George, was the youngest child of John and Elizabeth Kinghorn. He was born in 1881 in Bedlington, and like his father and brothers Thomas went to work in the pit. In 1905 he married Lizzie Hills and they had seven children, Lizzie, Annie, Henry, Thomas, Mary, Richard and Hannah. In 1911 they were living at Craigs Buildings, Bedlington Bank Top. His regimental number would suggest that Thomas joined the Tyneside Scottish but was transferred to the 1st Battalion. He died during the Battle of Arras and is buried in Dusans Military Cemetery

He is remembered in Bedlington Station on B163.04 and in Bedlington on B163.04
