In Ridge Wood Military Cemetery in West Flanders is the Commonwealth War Grave of 10433 Private James Adams, serving with 9th Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers who died 06/09/1915.

Carole Fife has provided the following:

James is the elder brother of Thomas Adams. He was born in Seaton Sluice, one of 9 children to Robert and Margaret Adams. His father was a miner, and in 1901 the family were living at Bywell Terrace, Hartley. By 1911, when the family were living at 24, Second Street, Netherton Colliery, James was working as a hewer like his father. They later moved to 242 Yard Row, Netherton Colliery

He is remembered in Bedlington on B15.07 and B15.26 page 118
