Derek Johnstone has provided the following:

William Pattison was born in 1889 at Blyth, Northumberland. His mother was Mary Ann Pattison who married George Duff in 1889 at Tynemouth in the same county.

In 1911, Mary Ann Duff is shown as a boarding house keeper at 1, Bells Place Bedlington. At this time William was single and working in the coal mines. William was living at living at Dowson’s Buildings when he enlisted Bedlington.

In all probability, after being wounded in early July, William died in England hence his burial in Bedlington.

William Pattison is remembered in Bedlington on B15.02, B15.07 and B15.26 page 37
