Sgt Goldsbury was the rear gunner of Avro Lancaster III PB468 GT-B of 156 Squadron, which was lost on a mission to target mark the Blohm und Voss shipyards at Hamburg. The Lancaster crashed in the Langenhorn area of Hamburg with the loss of all eight crew members.
