In St.Ninian’s Roman Catholic Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of MajorJan Suszynski serving with the 2.P.Art. Polish Army, who died 10/10/1946.

The headstone reads:

Jan Suszynski
Major W.P.
Zmarl 10 XI 1946

Niech mu obca ziemia
Lekką będzie.

The wording translates as “May he rest in peace in this foreign land”.
