On the Dunkirk Memorial is the name of T/129523 Driver Thomas Lauder, serving with the Royal Army Service Corps, who died 12/06/1940.

In St. Aidan's Churchyard is a family headstone for Lauder which reads:

In loving and treasured
memory of
George Lauder
our dear father
who died at Bamburgh
on the 28th July 1958.
and his wife Agnes
our dear mother
who died at Aberdeen
on the 12th November 1938
And their only son Thomas
killed in action at St.Valery
on the 12th June 1940.
and their daughter Euphemia
who died 17th August 1961
and Agnes 3rd Feb. 1994
