In Prospect Hill Cemetery Gouy, Aisne, France, is the Commonwealth War Grave of 41420 Private Thomas Weir serving with the 7th Battalion Leicestershire Regiment who died 08/10/1918.

We wished him luck
But little thought
It was his last
Goodbye

In Shilbottle St. James's Churchyard is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
Elizabeth Jane
dearly beloved wife of
Andrew Weir,
who died at Newton West Lodge
Dec. 8th 1918, aged 42 years.
Also of Sig. Thomas Weir,
their eldest son, who was killed
in action in France, Oct. 8.1918
aged 19 years & 9 months.
Also of John T. Weir,
beloved husband of Dora
who died Feb. 8th 1953,
aged 51 years.
Also of the above
Andrew Weir,
who died Sept. 12 1955,
aged 88 years.
Also of the above
Dora Weir
who died Oct. 18. 1988
aged 83 years.

Thomas Weir is remembered in Newton on the Moor on N21.01 and in Shilbottle on S18.01 and S18.10
