On the Thiepval Memorial, Somme, France, is the name of Private Robert John Miller, serving with the 2nd Battalion Duke of Wellington’s (West Riding Regiment), who died 12/10/1916.

Morpeth Herald 17/11/1916 carries a brief obituary:

Private Robert John Miller, N.F., is reported to have been killed in action on October 12th. He was the eldest son of William and Belle Ann Miller, Rock Moor House, Alnwick.

He is remembered at Rock on R20.01 and R20.02
