Aikman, J.D.C., Pte., 1917

On the Arras Memorial, Pas de Calais, France, is the name of 235553 Private John Douglas Campbell Aikman, serving with the 9th (Northumberland Hussars) Battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, who died 25/11/1917.

In Felton Cemetery is a family headstone for Aikman which reads:

In loving remembrance of
Thomas L.,
beloved husband of M.C. Aikman,
who died at Newton on the Moor
Oct. 26 1950 aged 68 years.
also their dear son J. Douglas Aikman
who fell in France
Nov. 25 1917 aged 22 years
also Margaret Crozier Aikman
wife of the above who died Oct. 2nd 1934
aged 69 years.
