On the Arras Memorial is the name of 27679 Private David William Cowe, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 28/04/1917.

In Embleton (Spitalford) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

In
loving memory
of
Isabella
Beloved wife of William T. Cowe
who died Sept. 2 1928
aged 70 years
of Christon Bank.
Also of the above William T. Cowe
who died Oct. 12 1935, aged 81 years.
Also of David William, their son
killed in action in France
April 28th 1917 aged 24 years.
