In Malbork Commonwealth War Cemetery is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1007363 Sergeant Pilot John Forsyth, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 11/07/1942.

In Amble West Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

In loving memory of
my dear husband
John Forsyth
who died Jan. 20th ?1946 aged 50 years.
Also Margaret McPherney Forsyth
his beloved wife
who died Jan. 2nd 1953 aged ?93 years.
Also
Sergt. Pilot John Forsyth, R.A.F.V.R.
our beloved and only son
missing on air operations over Danzig
July 12th 1942 aged 22 years.
Also Jean Dickenson Forsyth
their beloved daughter
who died June 22nd 1990 aged 65 years.
