In Christ Church churchyard is a family headstone which reads:
In Loving Memory of
Matthew, beloved husband of
Margaret Ann Atkinson
who died Jan. 29th 1942
aged 74 years.
Also their sons
Thomas, killed in action in France,
Nov. 15th 1916, aged 23 years.
Edward, killed in action in France,
April 12th 1916, aged 26 years.
He and his brother Edward are remembered in Walker on W2.21
