In Walker (Christ Church) Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 240192 Serjeant Arthur Mellish, serving with the Northumberland Fusiliers who died 26/02/1918.

The headstone reads:

In loving memory of
Sergt. Arthur Mellish
1st Batt. N.F.
the dearly beloved husband of
Ellenor Mellish,
who died Feby. 27th 1918
aged 42 years.
Also the above Ellenor
who died Dec. 27th 1960.
