19th August 1944 age 20

P/Off. Young was serving with 1655 MTU. He was a crew member of Mosquito XX KB224 which took off from Wyton on a training exercise. The wings fell off, possibly while doing a bunt, and the aircraft crashed 8 miles from Shrewsbury. Both crew were killed.
