Thomas was born in 1884 at Newcastle upon Tyne, the brother of John of 136 Shipley Street, Byker.
He enlisted at Newcastle, initially with the 11th Battalion, Northumberland Fusiliers, before being transferred to the 13th Battalion. He died on 16 June 1917, aged 33.
