In St. Nicholas Churchyard is the Commonwealth War Grave with a private headstone of 754476 Sergeant Frederick Gray serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 20/02/1941.

The headstone, bearing the Royal Air Force badge, reads:

In loving memory of
my dear husband
Pilot Sgt. Frederick Gray, R.A.F.
killed on active service 20th February 1941,
aged 25 years.
