In Newcastle West Road Crematorium is the Commonwealth War Grave of 1592054 Sergeant Kenneth Reid, serving with the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve who died 18/10/1943.

Sgt. Reid was serving in 24 O.T.U. He was a crew member of Whitley V EB347which took off from Long Marston on a training exercise. The aircraft crashed killing all on board.
