Mills, F.M., A/Smn., 1915
On the Helles Memorial is the name of Tyneside Z/654 Able Seaman Foster Main Mills, serving with the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve who died 04/06/1915.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

Foster was born on 6th August 1896. He was working as an apprentice electrical engineer living with his parents, John and Jane at 38, Hazelwood Avenue, Jesmond, Newcastle upon Tyne when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on 26th October 1914.
He joined the 1st Platoon, "B" Company of the Collingwood Battalion on 4th February 1915 and was posted as missing assumed killed in action in Gallipoli on 4th June 1915.

Foster Main Mills is remembered in Jesmond on J1.15 and J1.21
