In Newcastle (Old Jesmond) Cemetery is a headstone which reads:

Sacred to the memory of
Ernest George Green, M.C.
(Flying Officer, R.A.F.)
who was killed during service
at Digby Aerodrome, Lincolnshire
on Empire Day, 1922
aged 30 years.
and of Eleanor Alice Green
widow of the above
who died November 10th ?1931
aged 40 years
and of their only child
Paul Brian
Who with his valiant crew
Brought down by enemy act
29th December 1943.

Paul Brian Green is possibly remembered as “P. Green” in Dunston Hill on D31.01

There is no CWGC entry for Flying Officer Ernest George Green as he died in 1922.
