On the Runnymede Memorial is the name of 755766 Sergeant Percy Sharp Brown, serving with the Royal Air Force, who died 28/09/1940.

In Newcastle (St. John Westgate & Elswick) Cemetery is a family headstone which reads:

our dear sons

missing in Battle of Britain
28th Sept. 1940, aged 20 years
also Kenneth Reed Brown
died 31st July 1944, aged 15 years
also our dear mother Anna Isabella Reed
died 12th Dec.1946, aged 84 years
also our dear father Percy Reed
died 19th Sept.1947, aged 82 years
Joseph Sharpe Brown
died 19th Oct.1974, aged 88 years
Annie Isabella Brown
died 11th March 1977, aged 87 years
parents of Percy and Kenneth.
At rest.

Percy was born in the 4th quarter of 1919, the son of Joseph Sharpe and Annie Isabella Brown (nee Reed) of 24 Buddle Street, Newcastle upon Tyne. He served with 269 Squadron, Royal Air Force (Volunteer Reserve).
