Dunn, A., Smn., 1915
In Redoubt Cemetery, Helles, Turkey, is the Commonwealth War Grave of Tyneside Z/95 Seaman Andrew Dunn, serving with the Drake Battalion, Royal Navy Division, Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve, who died 06/06/1915.

Colin Boyd has provided the following:

Andrew was born on May 23rd 1885 and was working as a plater's helper, living with his wife, Isabella at 488, Scotswood Road, Newcastle upon Tyne when he enlisted in the Royal Naval Division on September 11th 1914. He joined the Drake Battalion, was posted to Gallipoli and was killed in action on June 6th 1915.

Morpeth Herald 02/07/1915 carries a brief obituary:

News has been received by Mr William Miller, Woodhorn Road, Ashington, that Seaman Andrew Dunn, of the Naval Brigade, was killed in action on June 6th. Seaman Dunn was employed at Elswick Shipyard before he joined the colours at the end of last year. He was 29 years of age, and he leaves a widow and three children.

Newcastle Journal 29/06/1915 also includes the above information.

Newcastle Journal 01/07/1915 gives Seaman Dunn's address as 488 Scotswood Road.

He is not remembered on any war memorial at Ashington but there is an A. Dunn at Elswick on E35.10
