The Geordie At War Project states:

“George Carse emigrated to Canada before the First World War.

This is an extract from the 16 Battalion Canadian Infantry War Diary. It is a Narrative of Action at Cuvillers on 1 October 1918 fought by the Battalion towards the end of the war. The casualties listed on the second page – 19 ORs (Other Ranks) will include George Carse. This was the last action fought by the Battalion – they went into Reserve on 2 October and remained there until the end of the war 6 weeks later.” (Documents: Canadian War Memorials)
